A lovely wild country wedding-Boyle, Alberta.

Jessica & Matthew

We had the pleasure of capturing Jessica & Matthew’s BIG day in the country and it was absolutely wildly beautiful! Although only an hour and a half north of home-it feels like a completely faraway place-it was refreshing!

Long grasses, horses, wildflowers and trees all beneath endless prairie clouds as far as the eye could see-we are so thankful to have had the opportunity for the experience itself-never mind the chance to capture their beautiful day! The weather conditions were absolutely perfect-we could not have asked for better (especially from a photographers point of view)!

Having space to be able to host your own wedding ceremony is awesome in itself-never mind having rolling hills and fields and your very own herd of horses a.k.a. incredible!

Matthew arrived over the brow of a hill on horseback with his parents in a wagon alongside him and Jessica not too far behind in what we could only describe as Cinderella’s carriage which was almost as stunning as she was!

The horses were hitched on posts flanking either side of the stationary entrance door, which they would exit post ceremony and into their new life together as a wedded couple.

As Jessica approached the doors, waited on the other side, then proceeded through the doors, down the isle-Matthew had his back turned to her because he wanted to wait until the very last moment to see his beautiful fiancée out of a mixture of excitement and emotion-it was very sweet.

We jumped into a bus and headed for a field of horses with the bride & groom and entire wedding party, where we were greeted by them. As we made our way to the location we scouted out a month or so earlier-we were completely surrounded by a herd of horses running around us-it was sort of how you’d imagine it would be in (the original) Jurassic Park but only a lot less terrifying and a lot more majestic! Tim, the stud from Holland, with his flowing mane looked like an absolute rockstar and they made for a spectacular backdrop while capturing our lovely couple and their nearest and dearest while we did a mix of serious and fun shots. We love to do both because it helps spice it up, you get photos which you will share with your family…then the ones where you’re being yourselves/you’ll share with your friends!

Jessica and Matthew had a very specific vision in mind, which brought us to their acreage to capture them with their three dogs, Dixie, Riley and Jersey, as well as their favourite horses and I think that we did a good job achieving this for them!

We love when you incorporate your life & interests into your day, no matter what this may look like-we want you to be comfortable being yourselves-it is important!

Jessica & Matthew, you two are the sweetest couple and are absolutely made for one another! It was a pleasure and an honour capturing your BIG day and we wish you many, many years of happiness in your new life together as husband & wife!
